Video: Looking at Raster.Labor – with Frank Bretschneider

Raster.Labor is an installation project by Raster.Media with contributions by Byetone + Mieko Suzuki, Dasha Rush, Frank Bretschneider, Grischa Lichtenberger, and Robert Lippok.

Premiered at the CTM Festival 2019, we took the chance to bring this great project to SchneidersLaden and explore the ideas behind it with one of the creators – Frank Bretschneider. During the planning stage of the installations Frank discussed some different approaches for the central machine of all five installations with us. The beating heart on all five tables was a modular synthesizer, providing control voltages for modules and other sound generating devices that are forming the individual parts of each installation.

In this video Frank Bretschneider goes into detail on how the project evolved from the idea to the technical realization.

The next chance to see the installation is at SUPERBOOTH19, from 9th to 11th of May 219 at FEZ Berlin.

World premiere on Thursday – 7:30pm: polygogo Oscillator by E-RM

E-RM presents their new synthesis method! polygogo, E-RM’s new stereo oscillator module, is based on the specially developed polygonal synthesis, a kind of graphical complex amplitude shaping method. With the help of the built-in modulation sources, polygonal synthesis in polygogo opens up a wide range of sonic possibilities from clicky pinged sequences to unique dark thunderstorms, bass lines, leads and colored noise. Max of E-RM presents the current prototype of polygogo in the workshop from 7:30pm and answers questions about the module

See you on Thursday 11th of April – 7:30pm at SchneidersLaden! And if you are planning to start a modular journey, join us for the Modular Beginner Workshop at 6pm.

Video: Haken Audio & La Voix du Luthier – Onde

Learn about the history and development of one of the most expressive and versatile electronic music instruments around! The Haken Continuum Fingerboard has been around for several years and is still being developed further and further. It gets its expressiveness from the incomparable surface that acts as the user interface and offers real-time continuous control in three dimensions for every finger that is placed on the playing surface!

As well as presenting the Continuum Christophe brought a special speaker with him, to give us the very rare chance to hear the La Voix du Luthier Onde – this exceptional approach to the construction of a speaker. There is no traditional speaker cone inside, only acoustic exciters transmitting the vibration into the wood. It is the same principle as for a guitar: the strings themselves make very little sound, but they are transmitting their vibrations to the soundboard through the bridge, and what you hear is the sonic amplification via the soundboard. In case of the Onde the exciter is acting as the bridge and transmits the electric “vibrations” to the wood. The Onde gives you a very immersive sound and the chance to experience electronic sound sources in a totally new way.

This incredible sound can hardly be recorded – so make sure to come to SUPERBOOTH19 to get another chance!

Workshop with Instruō! Thursday 4th of April – 7:30pm

Join us for a special workshop with Jason Lim from Instruō !

Instruō is a manufacturer of innovative euroack modular designs with a unique appearance. The most special module in the portfolio of Instruō might be the Scíon – it is composed of a biofeedback sensor and a quad random CV generator. The module can be used to transform data obtained from plants and other organisms into music. In short: You can finally jam with your favorite cactus! For more predictable compositions there is the very capable Harmonàig quantizer. And if you are into complex VCOs, Instruō provides you with an extra complex complex VCO named Cš-L.

But this will not be a product show, we’ll here some live music with these fine modules talk about the philosophy of Instruō and you’ll get the chance ask all the questions you ever had about Jasons modules.

See you on Thursday 4th of April – 7:30pm at SchneidersLaden! And if you are only about to start your modular journey, join us for the Modular Beginner Workshop at 6pm.

THURSDAY: Haken Audio & La Voix du Luthier – Onde // Workshop at SchneidersLaden

Learn about the history and development of one of the most expressive and versatile electronic music instruments around! The Haken Continuum Fingerboard has been around for several years and is still being developed further and further. The heart of this unique instrument is a digital EaganMatrix – based on the principles of the patch-matrix of synthesizers like Arp 2500 and EMS Synthi 100. And it gets its expressiveness from the incomparable surface that acts as the user interface and offers realtime continuous control in three dimensions for every finger that is placed on the playing surface! As well as presenting the Continuum there will be a very rare chance to hear the La Voix du Luthier Onde! With this exceptional approach to the construction of a speaker, the sound directly comes from the vibrations of the 2 soundboards. The Onde gives you a very dispersive and immersive sound and the chance to experience electronic sound sources in a totally new way. This incredible sound can hardly be recorded – so make sure to come to the workshop to get an accurate impression of the Onde!

No registration needed, the event is free.

Workshop and Performance: Blush Response // February 21st // 7:30pm

For the second workshop in our first workshop series in 2019 we invited an artist who is known for his uncompromising, hard sound. Blush Response is Joey Blush, Berlin Based Cuban-American artist and sound designer, who’s music is characterized by a modular synth heavy approach to sound design, combining rough, glitch-heavy beats with thick, distorted synths to create a sound that blurs the lines between Industrial, EBM and Techno. Yummie.

Blush cut his teeth doing programming work for artists such as Fear Factory, Rhys Fulber, Cristian Castro, and as a touring member of Joey Jordison (Slipknot)’s alternative rock project Scar the Martyr. Check out his music here:

In this workshop we’ll not only hear some sounds from his machines, Blush Response will also tell us about his live set and work in general.

We hope to see you at the workshop – come and learn from someone who knows his craft.

Workshop Videos! FRAP TOOLS / XAOC / VERMONA

Before we start the next series of workshops at SchneidersLaden, we owe you a documentation of past events – that’s what we share with you today! Below you will find three previously unpublished videos of the 2018 workshops. We start with the workshop by XAOC Devices, who are going in depth about their most mysterious, yet so powerful module – the Drezno! This video can be seen as a tutorial to the creative use of analog to digital conversion. During the last part of this video they also talk about their upcoming mega-VCO – the Odessa!

The second video is the workshop by Tom Körting presenting the Vermona module line. The small manufacturer of high-quality electronic instruments has a number of products in its portfolio, whose special features only become apparent at second glance – Tom puts them in the spotlight and gives many helpful tips and hints, which you should try out when working with these and other modules!

The third video is from the workshop with the italian manufacturer of eurorack modules – Frap Tools. Their latest module release Falistri is not yet covered in this video, but the almighty Fumana filter-bank is! Watch this video to learn more about the complex structure of this module, how to use it and what makes this module so special.

XAOC Devices

Maciek, Marcin and Tomek from Xaoc Devices were so kind to explain their more sophisticated modules to us. What initially looks like a lecture at university, is actually a quick and very good explanation of the huge and often overlooked possibilities of their Drezno and Lipsk modules. Those two go to the heart of digital-to-analog conversion (and the other way round) and are therefore perfect examples of what makes modular synthesizers interesting in the first place! You can go as deep into the shaping of sounds and modulations as possible! At the end of the workshop they also talked about their first VCO module – Odessa, an additive oscillator with great potential.

Vermona

Tom Körting presented the Vermona Modular line for us in a workshop – with the twinCussion, fourMulator, quadroPOL, twinVCFilter and fourMative CONTOURS. He explores sonic and rhythmical possibilities and explains some tricks from his studio work with these fine modules. Beware: You might learn something!

Frap Tools

Simone Fabbri from Frap Tools gave this wonderful workshop on his mighty Fumana filter-bank module in 2018. We also learn about the history of the company, how it all started and where the ideas for their modules came from. From an early modular-case-prototype to the complex filter-bank Fumana – Frap Tools has established itself as a high quality modular brand a short time.

We hope to see you soon at SchneidersLaden. Don’t buy crap!

Bernhard Rasinger / BR Laser – Performance at SchneidersLaden

Bernhard Rasingers played this impressive laser show on the terrace outside SchneidersLaden in late summer 2018. The CV-controllable laser is moving in relation to the what you hear. Audio and laser present themselves as a complex whole. After this performance Bernhard gave a workshop about what he is doing how that works. The idea behind this and all other workshops at SchneidersLaden is to give insights into the work of manufacturers and artists that you would not find on any website or magazine. So this was the perfect occasion for our guests (and ourselves) to learn more about the interaction of audio, control voltage and lasers – an exciting niche in the field of audiovisual performances.

Raster.Labor at CTM Festival

Raster.Labor is an installation project for generative compositions centered around a modular synthesizer. The modular system is the basic control unit of the generative installations and is to be complemented with additional machines and objects. This is where the artists where free to express their visions. Byetone + Mieko Suzuki, Dasha Rush, Frank Bretschneider, Grischa Lichtenberger, and Robert Lippok where asked to select sound sources themselves, which could range from minuscule to gargantuan sonic objects. They may choose to mechanically generate sound, or to integrate microphones and amplify sound – as the setup does not contain any sound producing components. Five tables with minimal Eurorack setups and a handful of studio monitors form the basis of the piece. The analogue hardware generates and manipulates control voltages, forming a framework in which the artists can complete, connect, and interact with the modules. For the selection of the modules Raster was supported by SchneidersLaden.

On Friday 25th of January the installations will premiere at the CTM Festival. You have the chance to see Raster.Labor until 03. February.

Video: KITMUN – live performance at SchneidersLaden

Kitmun is a Berlin based duo of modular music and video artists. They play electronic music ranging from ambient to techno and combine this with live visuals from a dedicated eurorack synthesizer. Both, visuals and music are all created live on the spot and are therefor unique to the specific event and performance.

Kitmun played this exceptional performance for our guests at SchneidersLaden and afterwards talked about their workflow, setup, gear and everything else that is important if you plan to do modular live music.

The evening came to an end on the terrace at SchneidersLaden after hours of conversation and some drinks with the very interested audience.

We want to thank everyone for coming and hope to see you soon again at one of our weekly workshops or during the opening hours of the SchneidersLaden showrooms.

MODULAR BEGINNER WORKSHOP // Thursday 6pm

Hello modular newbies!

We’re holding another workshop for modular beginners in our beloved and once again rearranged SchneidersLaden.

Our goal is that you can confidently make your own first patch afterwards and have a good time and also meet like-minded people! Although we are nerds we won’t get too technical. Along the way we will show you basic patch techniques, the workings of our showroom, as well as tell you some stories about the history of (modular) synths and the ever evolving Eurocrack scene.

Feel free to come by even if you do not want to participate in the workshop, as the showroom will be open longer on Thursdays and you can get drinks at the bar. Not only when starting out with modular synthesizers this is a nice occasion to get some advice by us or other experienced guests, or share your knowledge with us! Try out some patches and have a drink or two.

See you soon! Every Thursday at 6pm at the SchneidersLaden Showroom for a workshop – or every weekday between noon – 7pm.

A eurorack legend is back – The Frequensteiner

Pure acid, liquid resonance and lots of character – these are some of the attributes the Livewire Frequensteiner can be described with and it is a living legend – not often available and owners tend to hold on to these modules. BUT SchneidersLaden will get some of these special filters soon – so all you have to do is to head over to schneidersladen.com to pre-order.

The Frequensteiner has a unique sound especially the band-pass mode is known to impress. It has a liquid resonance that has not been found in any other eurorack filter so far – a truly unmatched sound with lots of fans around the world. Its origins lie in the Steiner Parker Synthasystem and it is a little diva, but those who have played and heard the FrequenSteiner will understand why this filter has such a legendary status – the overall sound, the juicy resonance and its unbelievable character.

Sacha Ketterlin performing live at SchneidersLaden

On November 22nd, Sacha Ketterlin from the Higher Resonance label will show what it can be like to massage your brain with a modular synthesizer consisting mainly of Macbeth Series X modules (see picture below) – an atmospheric and intense ambient performance is to be expected.

MaxPowerPHOTO_SACHA_KETTERLIN_System_s

Sacha Ketterlin has been building his instrument for many years. His focus is on the careful compilation of modules for the perfect analog sound and to make as few trade-offs as possible in order to bring it to the stage. Especially during his ambient performances you can really feel the quality of the sounds, here no sacrifices are made. Chords don’t come from samplers or digital modules, but from precisely tuned Macbeth oscillators – you can hear the difference.

November 22nd – starting at 7:30pm (as always) right after the regular Beginner Workshop.

The performance is limited to 20 persons, so…

DigitalAnalog 2018 is over – It has been very nice being able to take part in this unusual festival held in Munich’s iconic Gasteig. Sad to say the city’s council will tear down this location in order to make space for something new and posh to battle Hamburgs new opera house. But before that is going to happen we will definitely join the following edition of DigitalAnalog in 2019 with an even bigger modular playground and surely perform live as well. The interest in modular instruments and our Karusell was very high again and we are glad to report that the number of female players seems to increase significantly. So we are looking forward to going south again next year! Many thanks to all involved and to all employees of Gasteig, who made a very comfortable stay possible for us!

XAOC Devices Workshop //October 18th @SchneidersLaden

On October 18th Schneidersladen welcomes XAOC Devices from Poland as our guests. They will be showing some of their latest developments and explain the highly complex and powerful Zadar – an ultra flexible envelope generator and so much more. It is equipped with an OLED screen and almost endless options to create up to four extremely precise and complex envelopes. Or take a look at the “Binary Conversion Komputor” called Drezno. This unique module consists of AD/DA converters that let you extract gates from audio signals and audio signals from gates – which is only a very condensed description of what this module is capable of. XAOC Devices often brings something new to the table and the Drezno is no exception, it even features an expander called Lipsk. The expander lets you invert single bits in the stream of data produced by Drezno.

Also: Odessa! The new additive oscillator is not even available yet – in this workshop you’ll get the chance to learn more about it! Odessa brings a lot of tonal variety to the table, it might be the most elaborate implementation of additive synthesis in eurorack right now.

As you can see XAOC Devices really goes one step further with their modules and you get the chance to talk to the makers themselves and to see the modules in action in a small performance part of the workshop. Don’t miss the chance to take part in the upcoming workshop with one of the most innovative eurorack manufacturers these days.

Video: Workshop on video synthesis – Stephane Lefrancois and the LZX Industries Visual Cortex

Stephane Lefrancois – from Lacroix Studios and one half of Kitmun – gives us an overview about his usage of LZX Industries video synthesis modules during this workshop at SchneidersLaden, that has been recorded in April. His relaxed and nondogmatic approach on this topic shows that there is a lot to explore and that it is possible to get great results even if you’re more familiar with modular synthesizers for audio. One great thing about this kind of synthesis is: it is partly usable with eurorack modules for audio – which makes this a possible new playground for everyone with a eurorack synthesizer. The offerings by LZX give you the possibilities to generate video signals from scratch, or process video signals, or control professional laser projectors!

A huge range of LZX products is now available at SchneidersLaden!

Cwejman Workshop @SchneidersLaden – The video!

At the beginning of July SchneidersLaden had the opportunity to welcome Wowa Cwejman again. The occasion was the release of his four new modules. Wowa Cwejman was so kind to give us an overview of these modules in the large showroom of SchneidersLaden. We wrote down some of the updated aspects of the modules here, but make sure to check out the full video below for all new features and sound examples.

  • AP-1 Mk2 got some major revision, there is a compression ratio knob now, the mic input is a state-of-the-art circuit with with phantom-power. There is a new gate-output and a side-chain option with added filtering.
  • The VC-SC brings a studio-grade compressor (no, this is not a marketing phrase…) with all controls you could wish for. It has voltage-controlled side-chain options, again with low-pass and high-pas filtering. It has input-metering and stereo output-metering added and is yet smaller than the previous version.
  • The BLD Mk2 got an update on the filter for example. It now has a 36dB/Oct filter with added band-pass mode, some improvement on the white-noise, additional waveforms for the VCO and more.
  • The VM-1S got an updated VCO with more waveforms, external audio-input with the option to mix with the internal VCO and to ring-modulate these two signals.

All in all a lot of new possibilities to explore!

HerrSchneiders statement on current developments in the Eurorack market

HerrSchneider posted a statement on the current situation of the Eurorack market on his schneidersbuero website – as this statement is in german here is a translation:

Attention, commercial break:

You asked for it: Due to the increased demand for Eurorack modules in Europe, even the large retailers for musical instruments are now filling the last corners of their warehouses and buying complete production runs from manufacturers and everything else they can get. Some manufacturers might be happy about this, but the flooding of the market already leads to a significant drop in prices here and there, some modules are already available with a 30% discount on the original calculated price and yet were still quite hot the other day!

As SchneidersLaden we have decided to go along with this development and of course offer corresponding products for the same price to our customers, although most of them have already bought them when the goods were still fresh and crisp! We’re almost a little sorry about that, but hopefully the hits are already produced and the music career is up and running? Nevertheless, sorry – but the decision for this way lies with the manufacturer and was not our recommendation!

By the way… we don’t advertise with moneyback-warranty… we’ve always practiced it. But please: get advice first, then buy – like in the good old days. Because it’s better to talk to your specialist retailer – we know what we are selling. And by the way: We do free shipping throughout Europe and there are Thursdays on that we are in the shop until nine o’clock in the evening …and real CHAOS serves creativity.

That had to be said – end of commercial break.

Why is this statement necessary? Basically SchneidersLaden and other specialist shops and distribution companies contributed largely in the positive, innovative development of the Eurorack market in the recent years. What you might not know is that SchneidersLaden is supporting small manufacturers with knowledge about legal requirements for the licensing of electronic products, business development and the knowledge about what customers are searching for. As a link between customers and manufacturers Schneidersladen has helped to promote innovation, brought together artists and the right tools for their art and has been working on creating a supportive culture among the users of electronic musical instruments and especially Eurorack modular synthesizers in Europe. With prices falling by 30% there will be less manufacturers, less innovation and less room for supportive activities throughout the whole scene. And yes: What you learn from the capitalist paradigm – competition is good and the market regulates the price. While this is somehow true if you are looking for cheap mass-produced products of (often) questionable quality. In Eurorack it means we are losing diversity and the non-competitive culture that has been so significant for almost anyone participating in this market. SchneidersLaden will continue its way, while having to compete on pricing with the big players. And yes, you can benefit from this development and save a few Euros – but take a second and think about what the future of Eurorack should look like. You are a part of this and your personal decisions matter.

Thank you for taking the time to read this – now go make some music, connect with other artists and keep supporting this unique scene.

SOMA LYRA8-FX ready for pre-order – SOMA sound for eurorack synthesizers!

The Lyra-8 is a phenomena – it’s massive, raw and deep sound made it a very popular synthesizer. The sound aesthetics are heavily based on the versatile effects section of this synthesizer which is now available for eurorack! Lyra8 FX is a dual delay with cross-feedback and the unique possibility of self-modulation, meaning the effect is able to influence its own sample rate. On top of this the module features a voltage controllable distortion. The sound of the Lyra8-FX is very organic. With the right patch, the module can not only create delays and distortion, but comb filter, chorus and other effects as well.

SchneidersLaden now has the an exclusive demo model available in the showroom! Come to SchneidersLaden to get your hands on this special effects module or pre-order it to be one of the first to have this special module in your rack!

Workshop with Erica Synths // Thursday 28th June, 7pm @Schneidersladen

On Thursday 28th of June at 6pm we will start an evening full of new experiences and opportunities to learn new things!

  1. We start at 6pm with an introduction to modular synthesis that is suitable for beginners and for all those who are curious about sound synthesis. Everyone is welcome to join us, no previous knowledge required!
  2. At 7pm we are presenting an intense evening with a techno machine at the center of attention. Erica Synths will be showing what can be done with a modular synthesizer especially designed and engineered to be a performance oriented techno machine. Lots of artists perform with not much more than a modular synthesizer these days and it has proven to be an effective way of bringing live music to clubs and festivals. We will also talk about the philosophy of Erica Synths and where their motivation to make musical instruments comes from.

As we have limited capacity for this workshop please send an e-Mail to Timm to save your space for one or both workshops – we have to limit this event to 30 people.

Participation is free-of-charge as always!
Looking forward to seeing you there!!! The SchneidersLaden showroom team

Performing with a clock – SND ACME4 workshop @SchneidersLaden

A few weeks ago SchneidersLaden hosted a workshop for a machine HerrSchneider frequently uses in his own musical installations. This evening it was all about trusty clocks, with the SND ACME4. It can be described as an ultra-stable and versatile clock management system. It gives you a multitude of options to optimize the timing of your musical instruments while they are playing together. Four channels with different combinations of MIDI-, DIN-Sync- and analog outputs feature swing parameters, shift and much more. But the most important thing is the very reliable timing of this machine.

Tom Körting talks about his own experiences with the ACME4 and shows that a machine for clock management can be used very hands-on and that it offers some very musical performance features.

“playing Modular Hero” – with Mutable Instruments //workshop @SchneidersLaden

“Modular Hero” as part of the quality control process is not the usual approach I guess, but nothing seems common when it come to Mutable Instruments – which is a good thing!

Mutable Instruments is one of the most popular modular synthesizer brands today: In this workshop we were shown how a Mutable Instruments module comes to life, which questions determine which answers and how to set a high standard in quality control in a one-man operation.

These very inspiring insights into the work of one of the most innovative eurorack companies in recent years are not the entire recording of the workshop with Mutable Instruments. In part 2 there will be some discussion and demonstration of the new modules like Marbles, Plaits, Stages and one that’s just a rumor right now. So keep your eyes on this channel for the second part!

Have you seen Part 2 of this workshop?

Deutschlandfunk radio about Elektronauten festival and Synth Carousel

Elektronauten festival is over and many workshops have been held. The festival attracted numerous guests and the media. The organisers of the Elbphilharmonie have managed to bring together some of the big names on stage: Martyn Ware of The Human League, Adrian Utley of Portishead and Will Gregory of Goldfrapp for example. AND SchneidersLaden was there too, with Thomas Kircher who did several workshops on modular synthesis and with the Modular Synth Carousel in the entrance area of Elbphilharmonie. It was even mentioned in this report by german radio station Deutschlandfunk:

SchneidersLaden and Gammon @Elektronauten Festival Hamburg

For three days, the Elektronauten Festival in the Elbphilharmonie is all about electronically produced music – synthesizers, vocoders, loop music, oscillators and much more. There are concerts, talks and lots of workshops to participate. SchneidersLaden will be there too!

The hands-on lecture by Berlin sound artist Thomas Kircher is just the right thing for those who are still unfamiliar with these terms. Thomas Kircher is a student of “Sound Studies and Sonic Arts” and works in the legendary Berlin synthesizer shop SchneidersLaden. In five 90-minute lectures he explains the basics of synthesizer music, uncomplicated and without becoming too technical. In his lecture he illustrates how to program, control, modulate, route and mix voltages with patch cables – in short, how a sound is created on a synthesizer. He also takes a look at the history of electronic music, the philosophy of the developers of then and now and reports first-hand on the dynamics and development of the scene in recent years.

The Modular Synthesizer Ensemble by Gammon will also be present at Elektronauten Festival. The Modular Synthesizer Ensemble provides 12 synthesizers to create sounds, melodies and noises and write whole compositions. Guided by Gammon, a musician and music mediator who has been working with synthesizers since the 1990s, the participants in this one-day workshop gain a deep insight into working with modular synthesizers – experimenting, improvising and developing their own composition.

Here is a video of Gammons project at SUPERBOOTH18 where the participants were school children.

You will also be able to find the Modular Carousel there and learn how to patch a modular synthesizer – the avant-garde instrument in electronic music production.

Find out more on the official Elektronauten Festival Homepage.

SchneidersLaden presents: SUPERBOOTH18

03. – 05. May 2018

FEZ Berlin, Straße zum FEZ 2, 12459 Berlin

Verbos Electronics – Multi-Delay Processor -> Workshop Video!

Here is the first workshop video from our new room at SchneidersLaden – Schneiders VideoTheke. Please enjoy the video of Mark Verbos presenting his latest development and watch out for more events in this new room. We will announce these here on stromkult.com!

This workshop is about the very first product by Verbos Electronics designed and manufactured in Berlin. All previous modules focused on old circuits and all analog designs – so this is also the first Verbos module that includes digital technology at its heart. There are eight digital delays clocked by an analog VCO with voltage control. But instead of reading my bad explanation of what this module is capable of and how it works, please watch the video and Marks excellent presentation of his latest module.

Portrait of SchneidersLaden by culturetrip.com

Last year culturetrip came to SchneidersLaden to do a portrait of our work and the idea behind the showroom – the integrative place for creative minds of all kinds. A place to meet, learn and enjoy. You can watch the video below or read the complete article on culturetrip.com

“The staff at SchneidersLaden are bringing musicians and music lovers together to help them discover how to use this hardware to create and experiment with music.”

Video: Richard Devine and Surachai – Workshop pt. 2

Richard Devine and Surachai visited the showroom at SchneidersLaden the day after their concert at Berghain. The best thing about it is that they have made a whole workshop out of it. Richard Devine showed his live rig and explained his unmistakable approach of playing a eurorack system. He is one of the most important modular experts and a key figure to the eurorack scene. Within our scene we all have different approaches to patching and our own uniquely assembled systems. During this workshop we shared patch-ideas and argued about favourite modules. Richard talked about his beginnings with creating music and using synthesizers and how he puts his musical ideas into practice today.

If you have missed part one of this workshop watch it here.

The second part begins with a performance similar to the performance at Berghain the night before. Then Richard is answering questions by the audience. Themes like special firmwares and patch methods come up that make his modular Synthesizer this special alien insectoid machine.
