Morgen in der Domstadt Köln: Hier die sehenswerte Videoeinführung für Rheinländer und andere Anrheiner wie rheinische Fro-Naturen wahrscheinlich geschnitten von Rainer? ..!
Even more fun on modulars you can have inside Music store cologne until October 24th now; next Thursday. Today we installed our Karussell with four mixed modular systems, a pure Doepfer A-100 box and the Macbeth Micromac-D. Now you re invited to perform it all day long. If you have questions please talk with the staff, they are very nice and will try their best to help you. ..
We was in Vienna performing the modular karussell during the Moozak Festival, it was a nice time, see a first short video impression here, please.
No, its not about the well known CCC, but there is another happy client now running a modular system including the Chaos Computer, a module by livewire. On his Blog “electricmusicfox” he released a feedback, review and a second try of a manual of this unfortunately very last work of our dear friend Mike Brown, who sadly passed away. So please read this to understand it better now.
Towards new adventures we finally gave up the London showroom that we called the “testsalon” inside Rough Trade East.
After our friend Martin made it for awhile and finally Simon Lynch held a few brilliant workshops for newbees and runaways there – we thought its enough for now and time for a change again.
So please dont be sad once you dont see the nicely enlightened cabin there anymore, other new places will pop up soon. Heres some London videos on what we did there once and heres the video on what we will do with all the modules right now..
(further news to follow up soon).
.. we found the right button to get the SALE PRICES down to sale prices. Please re-check this folder now if you thought this was special already, it was not. sorry and thank you.
We have a new webshop, now. All of our existing clients will get an email latest tomorrow (july, 2nd) with their new login and pass to be able to see existing orders, to add new ones or so.
Some things will not work fine directly, some things will be better, please let us know about this per mail to shop@schneidersladen.de . WE will go ahead working it out. Thank you and good night.
Grey sky is a good motivation to start a new indoor theme: If you want to learn more about modular stuff or electronic music participate in workshops: Apart from our constantly ongoing workshop every afternoon in kreuzberg there are some in London, next one on 29th this month.
Also on June, 29th there will be one in Berlin with Tom Körting who will teach you making weird sounds on our bigger system on an event in ..Friedrichshain (?). Another bigger system will be show on that DJ-meeting in Dortmund, Westfalenhalle (?), so there are possibilities enough these days.
we will keep you informed with details here about a week before the dates (!).
.. btw .. if you really want to go deeper with soldering things yourselves, Befaco is offering meetings for such in Berlin sometimes, please check their site.
.. could give you an impression on the first workshop we had in Schneidersladen; thank you, Nav.
The R52 by metasonix and some other modules are unfortunately out of stock at the time in schneidersbuero, but they are very attraktive for interesting sounds apart from just noise. In addition to this Video on you tube showing the R52 in use there is a great interview with its inventor Eric Barbour in this months german synthesizer magazin. In addition with the review about the latest Release called Assblaster KV100 it is a reason to go for it.
of our new showroom has been made by Nav – as always – released on his famous blog Navs modular lab.
The Hertz Donut by TheHarvestman has been shipped in limited numbers shortly ago and it seems, that the inventor has the idea to make it even better. A firmware could be loaded in at the factory one day but the units have to be returned for that. SchneidersBuero will handle such an operation as usual for their clients without any extra costs. Thank you, Nav for giving me this hint.
.. and we are looking forward meeting you for our grand opening next wednesday: On 9.09.09 there will be coffee and beer in the afternoon next to the kottbusser Tor above the Kaisers. If we missed to send you an invitation, please still come there or send us your postal adress that the brilliant little postcard can still reach you in time.
.. bella Italia!
Also in italy there are many competent users of analogue gear and there is a lot of analogue gear in use. So now an online magazine started to promote news around the wide field in english and italian language and I welcome the initiative to review things like the documentary ‘totally wired’. Reviews on units will hopefully follow soon.
The new Future Retro Orb (synthesizer & stepsequenzer) got tested by the german magazin Keys in edition june 2009
What the Future sounded like..
Wolfgang Seidel, a good client and friend of our house brought in the film called ‘Kraftwerk and the electronic revolution’ (ask the internet for previews) – Brilliant. He also sent me these links to a film called “What the future sounded like” about the history of the EMS synths available from the web in Part1, Part2 and Part3. This explained a lot to me about the grandfathers of what we still do over here in a modern form.
A couple of days ago , i found some older Freaks@home articles in the “Sound & Recording” Magazine, & yes i think they are worth reading First was about Arthur Schneller (S&R 11/07) an old friend of the Schneider familiy & owner of an exclusive restaurant in berlin (Ottenthal) and an even more exclusiv Doepfer Modular system with more than 20 VCO’S and and and ,furthermore he is interested in barok music & musicians (arthur called them punks for that time of history) and how to get that on a musically way played & transfered on his modular system – well great idea.
The second article is about Sunny Vollherbst (S&R 01/09 ,so not that old) or may better known under his Project Names “Q”,”Q2″,”Q3″ & the 6 manband “Glacier”. He works mainly as FOH technican for Serveral Indie Clubs in Hamburg and bands like Tocotronic etc. His Studio called “The SYNTHESIZER STUDIO HAMBURG” is an analogue Snthesizer recording studio with 38 analog Synthesizers and 18 vintage DRUM MACHINES. It blows the mind of every analogue freak and the best thing is, it can be booked for other productions as well, .. for further news about him and his projects look on myspace.com for qelectro, synthesizerpark, glaciermusic.
One of the biggest Articels about Modular Systems , history , brands and manufactures and their most famous products which includes very nice module pics has been released in the “Sound on Sound” Magazine from April 2009 – – this is really fantastic & definitly worth to have a look for to read.
There is another none unspectacular german article called “kabelsalat” written februar 2008 in the german magazine “Keys” introducing doepfer ,mfb ,synthetic Music Systems, Livewire & Cwejman modules – really good especially for newcomer who wants to get a bit deeper information of the Patchworld.
A british documentary about the german band Kraftwerk has been recommended to me. It is not just about the music and the band, but its telling more about the situation where such music has been coming from. In the teaser to see by clic here I met several good clients and interesting people talking serious about the music we all still work on.
After months of working down the list of preorders finally now Mr MFB is nearly as fast as sales go and we could have the 522 shipping out to you the very next day when you order. This could change when more people read the latest review in this months german KEYS magazine and elsewhere. Togther with the 522 there is also a report about the Miami by acidlab that is unfortunately not available over resellers at all.
And on page 19 there is a picture of the space station, where I was reminded to let you know about the Ursa Major modul to come: It is hard work to make a brilliant reverberation for the modular and so it could still take a bit, but it will come for sure, we will let you know!
The latest issue of germans synthesizer magazin contents a well done review of the Metasonix Wretchmachine S1000 with 4 full pages of explanations and pictures. . in german only but well done. Then there is another three pages about the Mutronics Mutator, out of production but a classic unit in between. About the classical CS-80 by Yamaha there are another six pages including many links, and – by the way – I would like to remind you that there are CS-80 filters available for the Studio electronics Code also !! We have one demo unit with four voices and all extras now on special sale!
If you would like to buy the Synthesizermagazin, please feel free to buy it from Schneidersladen or just give em an email if its not yet online.
NO, Wowa Cwejman is not going out of business and .. NO the JoMoX 888 is not so buggy, that you can not use it on stage and .. NO .. please do not believe everything that has been written to the internet.
Stromkult is a blog with that what we know about those units that we buy from some small manufacturers we like. If WE tell something about them this is mostly what they told us earlier and it could be true. And YES .. Mr. Wowa Cwejman Is working on new modules and he will release them, but not one day before they will be ready. We are looking forward to this and all the other interesting releases in our little market, and – YES, it could take a little longer sometimes!
