Befaco presenting their mixer modules @SUPERBOOTH17

In February 2010 Befaco was created as an open hardware platform focusing on professional DIY musical hardware. Befaco presented their modular modular mixer solution for eurorack – Hexmix, Hexpander, Hex Mix VCA. This mixer might be the closest to an external mixer that you can buy for eurorack. But it also has some very handy features for live-performances – like vactrol-based mute buttons.

The Barcelona based company will also offer their legendary workshops during SUPERBOOTH18 and you can find them also at Booth O512.

 

Superbooth17 – Befaco

Befaco presents four new modules at Superbooth17. Hexmix is a mixer with six channels, each audio path features a pan potentiometer, an equalizer with three bands as well as mute (momentary / toggle) and solo options. The module can be expanded by the Hexpander, which adds three aux sends with stereo return channels. Very clever: All aux sends are equipped with pre and post fader outputs.

The Hex Mix VCA is kind of an expansion as well, but can also be used on its own. The module features six attenuators with level potentiometers. The response characteristic can be crossfaded between logarithmic, linear and exponential curve.

Last but not least, Befaco showed the prototype of a burst generator with some nifty features.

The Hex modules will become available in June. A release date for the burst generator isn’t determined yet.
