The high-end synthesizer manufacturer GRP enters eurorack – Update: NOW AVAILABLE

The first batch of modules by GRP arrived in Berlin! We are very much looking forward to try these Italian modules that promise to bring the outstanding quality of GRPs stand-alone synthesizers to eurorack. Not only high-quality parts and manufacturing distinguish this manufacturer, but also their sense for details. For example:

  • an audio through path in an envelope-follower module
  • or the lovely VU-meters on the output module
  • or a through path for gate signals in an ADSR
  • or this ultra-wide-range octave switch on the VCO module
  • or the feature list of the two available filters: separate outputs AND an additional output that can be switched between the available filter-slopes, two audio inputs and a built-in distortion are nothing less than an invitation for wild feedback adventures.

Nothing too fancy but so helpful. This fine sense for details can also be found in the sound, precise, big and classy. And have you seen the pictures? Beautiful Italian design! You want to check out the modules yourself? Great! Head over to the GRP product line on SchneidersLaden.com or check them out in the showroom.

What’s new?

After SUPERBOOTH18 there are a lot of new things added to SchneidersLaden. Here comes a wild compilation of what we have new in the store or will have later. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, there are many more new things on our list!

To begin we have GRP Synthesizers from Italy now entering the eurorack modular market. The GRP Synthesizer products are completely hand-assembled and have a characteristic GRP sound and design. These high quality modules are already up on the website and can be pre-ordered. Sonic Potions is finally producing the versatile Malaclypse module. We already have one unit in our showroom – so come by and check it out! Create infinite variations of modulation voltages, digital noise timbres or process external audio through this creative tool. Also new at SchneidersLaden are the modules by the passionate Chinese manufacturer Meng Qi. If you have been involved with eurorack modular synthesizers you most likely have seen and heard his modules before, but you always had to order these from China. Find them now at SchneidersLaden! Follow this LINK.

Have you ever heard of the company building distortion units in Portland already in the 1920’s? No? Neither have we – because no one has done that! But we know what they would have looked like – if they every came to existence: Like the units from Retro Mechanical Labs – great looking effects boxes with a strong impressive sound! Find these nice boxes of heavy sound now at SchneidersLaden.

More specialties from eurorack and stand-alone territories are the new Stargazer, Jarmaggeddon and Leapfrog

The Stargazer from Møffenzeef Mødular is a new approach on digital drone synthesis – a very aggressive sound machine. In contrast to other drone generators the Stargazer is about digital goodness than analog oscillator swarms and about unheard walls of sound. The most reduced form of a digital drone synth might be the Jarmaggeddon – another development by Møffenzeef Mødular. To add another coast to the debate there is now the North Coast Synthesis. But instead of bringing a new alternative approach of synthesis this new company brings a fresh approach to low-pass-filtering. The MSK 007 Leapfrog VCF has a totally new circuit design and sounds just massive!

The guys over at Gearslutz have made a little documentary about ACL. Get some insights to the work of this module maker from Berlin. And: Hear some special sounds from their products, especially the huge sounding new VCO! Follow this LINK for the video.

And in case you didn’t notice yet: We have cut shipping costs! For orders from schneidersladen.com the shipping costs are omitted from May. This applies to all orders above 200 Euro* within Germany and from 500 Euro* within the EU, to Norway and Switzerland. Subsequent deliveries are generally free of charge.     * incl. VAT

More News: Have you been to our new event room? In Schneiders VideoTheke workshops, concerts and presentations of manufacturers, artists and friends of SchneidersLaden will take place every Thursday. Next one is a workshop with Mutable Instruments on Thursday 24th of May. Find out more here.

Superbooth17 – GRP

The Italian hardware manufacturer GRP not only shows its analog synthesizers A2 and A4 plus the R24 step sequencer at Superbooth17, but a range of Eurorack modules as well. In detail, visitors can take a look at…

  • A VCO with sine, triangle, saw, pulse and sub octave (-1 / -2) outputs. Furthermore, the module features linear and exponential FM inputs, hard sync and PW / PWM options.
  • A low pass filter with transistor ladder design and built-in distortion. Its slope is switchable between -6 dB and -24 dB per octave. CV inputs allow users to not only modulate the cutoff frequency, but the resonance as well. A 1V per octave connector makes it possible to employ the filter as a sine wave oscillator.
  • A state variable filter with two inputs and five outputs. (12 dB low and high pass / 6 dB band pass / notch / auxiliary select out) Two FM connectors enable users to modulate the cutoff frequency plus there is a 1V per octave input. A distortion is built-in as well.
  • A fixed filter bank with high pass, low pass and twelve band pass filters.
  • A VCA with switchable response characteristic. (Linear / exponential)
  • A stereo output module with four channel mixer, pan options and two phone options. – Plus two very cool looking VU meters.
  • A sample and hold module with integrated noise generator. In detail, the module emits white, pink and low frequency noise.
  • A three channel mixer
  • A dual LFO with outputs for ramp-triangle-saw and pulse-square waveforms.
  • An envelope follower, which can be fed with line or mic signals.
  • An ADSR envelope with three time ranges plus normal and inverted outputs.
  • A multiple

The modules will be available by the end of 2017.

STROMKULT is our platform for updates and news on SCHNEIDERSLADEN and SUPERBOOTH, selected electronic musical instruments and events related to modular synthesizers, sequencers, competent drum machines, analog modular systems, midi tools, controllers, converters and related products of all kinds. You can find all kinds of events related to these topic in our EVENT CALENDAR. Also on this site you will find lots of videos from SUPERBOOTH – the world’s largest trade fair for electronic musical instruments, news about events and workshops at SCHNEIDERSLADEN.

Herr Schneider started in 1999 with SCHNEIDERSBUERO as a sales and marketing platform for the smallest manufacturers and inventors of electronic musical instruments. Products were shown online, in our showrooms and at the original SUPERBOOTH – workshops and countless reviews have been featured in magazines all over Europe.

These very special instruments and tools are now often available from specialist dealers all over Europe and can be purchased directly from our webshop SCHNEIDERSLADEN worldwide.
