Our dear friend and colleague Thomas Kircher is presenting his final thesis – an installation – from today until Friday at “Zukunft am Ostkreuz”. The installation with modular synthesizer is called “three bodies” and here is what he has to say about it:
“I was always interested in and fascinated by the common history of analog computers and (modular) synthesizers. For this installation, I patched a modular synth to act as an analog computer by programming it with a physical model known as the „Three-Body Problem“. The resulting „data“ is processed and sonified with simple sound-generating circuits. Its approach to spatialization uses ever-so-slightly changing constructive and destructive interference patterns derived from the model.”
In other words, “three bodies” is a meditative and interactive sound sculpture suitable for children of all ages.
We recommend a visit to Zukunft am Ostkreuz! See you there!
