..all our best wishes for you and yours. Thank you for your ongoing partnership looking forward to meet you again this year.
..all our best wishes for you and yours. Thank you for your ongoing partnership looking forward to meet you again this year.
Mario Hammer, who made the very first so called Gesprächskonzert for AKAI, that was the official release of AKAIs new sampler and same time the release of his new record „Je l’ai caliseé la“ as „Mario Hammer and the lonely robot„. .. is online now. More to follow asap ..
One of the uncounted real synth concerts and a really smart performance on SUPERBOOTH17 was the Gespraechskonzert for Korg and Arp in the Cinema (open this link to find their complete 2016-performance, too).
Jörg Sunderkötter – Sound&Recording’s earlier chief editor, on keyboards – and his studio partner Joker Nies – an expert for circuit bending – had some problems to find on stage but then it became like this .. turn it on to listen yourselves, please.
“Il faut retourner a parler francais et allemand maintenant” was common sense in a chat with Jean-Michel Jarre and his Band inside SchneidersLaden reflecting the upcoming Brexit and the crazy Mister President of the americans yesterday. I invited JMJ to talk about this on next years Superbooth in a so called Altherrenabend, he was very sorry to not have been on SUPERBOOTH17 already but as a compense I am invited to his open Air Concert in Spandau Zitadelle Berlin today – looking forward to this. The attached picture is from his last visit in the shop where he met with Boris from Yello by accident.
On 2016th Freqs of Nature SchneidersLaden was already present with half of the staff, so it is kind of clear that this time we will be there with some more cases using even more than just some Bastl units. Feel free to find Patrick offstage somewhere doing workshops explaining ways of modulars, see ZV_K or Kabelstecker and plenty others onstage as one of the uncounted good examples of modular music now.
You can find our short story on Freqs of nature here.
.. will be coming to Berlin for the upcoming SUPERBOOTH17, but they have definitely the coolest ad that I have seen on the web so far.
Who is next? See you soon.
the french invention of the hondes martenot led into plenty of classical compositions for an early electronic musical instrument that is still 50 years later needed quite often nowadays for concerts. So owners of those few units that still work fine are often booked. For all others now there is hope from Japan, where Ondomo is producing a fine remake looking like something nearer to the original compared with the available french connection by Analogue Systems or Doepfers very affordable solution called R2M/A-189. Check this out on a date in their room Orbitall on the upcoming Superbooth soon.
will be held inside Superbooth17 next to the seaside stage every day starting at 1pm. Feel free to help out with cutting down your onions on the beat and listen to the bacon, that sounds best .. as the artist told us!
Mario Hammer and the lonely Robot for a smart sunset on the seaside stage to finish a weird day with an earlier gig of FUCKETYBUCKETY on the K1 quadrophonical stage? ..saw great guys called Ricardo and Max, one of the Ramsteiners and others. Colin Benders was performing live, sailing back home finally? Listening to Carlos African Beats on a boot shuttle down the river, fell into the C-Base, Robert Lowe could be the name of a guy making a generative patch on a rotating installation with six modulars, a very special place. some sleep. Next day back to the FEZ with the S-Bahn arriving Wuhlheide. The Park Train took me around for free. Friday afternoon d´Voxx performing outdoors, directly afterwards I had this workshop and built myself a very first DIY eurorack case; understood: Now I am a junkie! Many nice talks about it afterwards, Alissa deRubeis as 4MS had some good hints for us, I will join for the girls workshop tomorrow. Monika Werkstatt, another smart lady from the UK and finally Matt Didemus from Junior Boys together with Mark Verbos rocked the remaining friday, a Boat shuttle with Tangerine Dream was sold out, but there was a second one, luckily – C-Base again, Friday night.
Saturday half past one: Synths4girls just for girls, well done. Listening to different speakers – audio monitors, two three speaker lounges, now I know what to listen to. 4 oclock: live composing, no .. listening to skinnerbox, Mouse on Mars. Meeting Mike Shannon. Frank Bretschneider? #INSTANTBONER on the boat, great party starty, taking over the OHM for the final countdown: Jackie Houser-Brown – funny, plenty of modular heroes, Daniel Miller and again, the end of times in the C-base? perhaps. It could have been the superbooth.
Skinnerbox will play a so called Gesprächskonzert on SUPERBOOTH17-Saturday afternoon 5pm in the theatre hall for endorphin.es. Probably Skinnerbox will perform on one of their first complete shuttles, now – here you can find their last years details.
.. btw. 13 DIY-Workshops will be held during superbooth with limited places available (now online). Soldering icons and everything else will be there, you just need to book your place now and arrive in time, there is plenty of time left for the rest of the show if you will be in town for more than one day (!). Look here.
During SUPERBOOTH17 there will be up to six DoItYouselves-Workshops available every day for a limited number of participants – who would like to understand how to solder such little wonders yourself. You do not even need a ticket to enter the show but you have to book the kit including a place with a soldering icon and help for a certain day in advance, places are limited. A list with all available options can be found here now.
The workshop with Blawan and Sigha is fully booked already, sorry.
Our partner Cashmere Radio is opening up their archives presenting some rare recordings and interviews from last years SUPERBOOTH16 introducing their visions for this years convention. First episode is an interview with HerrSchneider to be heard on Monday 12:15 on Cashmere Radio here.
Cashmere will be streaming again plenty of artist interviews AND exclusively the daily aftershow events on board of the C-Base that can be reached with the boat shuttle leaving FEZ after 9pm and at midnight each day.

The view from amerika onto some european modular makers is quite interesting stating out here that we care for features and sound quality in not just high end but higher end modules, so .. thank you for the flowers and .. what’s going on with the products of our american collueges then? Read the whole article here and join www.superbooth.com for deeper knowledge not just on this.
A real virtual chicken little funk operator – MADE IN USA now (god bless the Amerikafürst) – is indeed available just from the very very best of synthesizershops all over the world..
.. presented here by lovely Marketing Manager Anabelle Spencer for Super Sonic Sound System. To create your own mainframe just visit ussss online and .. conduct your own custom symphony!
..3 year warranty! .. go supersonic now!
NAMM was great, Donald is King now and we are working hard for the next meeting over here in Berlin alredy.
NAMM 2017 is over now, there is still plenty of news to be released here so stay tuned, please.
We all will hopefully meet again on the upcoming SUPERBOOTH17 in april at FEZ-Berlin to see how great the USA became in between. I wish us all the best not just for this but first of all lets try even harder to keep some peace in the world here and there.
The inventor and most classical eurorack brand Doepfer now released their version of a mixing desk inside the system in a definitely modular form. Plenty of their modules are also available now as a so called vintage version in black so they are getting back to the classical shine of a (moog-style) modular taking it to the complex possibilities of nowadays modulars. The existing Doepfer products in silver aluminium are classical themselves in between, still built in a very high quality for mostly very affordable prices.
The earlier combination of A-138-O/A-138-P as a simple four- to sixteen-channel Mixer can very soon be expanded by the A-135-4-A/B/C to have the 4 to 16 channels added with CV-controlled AUX, PAN, LEVEL and MUTE parameters. The modular component 135-4C is a four channel envelope follower opening a new horizont of level control in eurorack systems. Apart from this, Doepfer was presenting the comeback of their high end VCO that had to be discontinued once their curtis chips was no longer available (as far as I know). Now the “new” A-111-2 is available in a wide and a very small version, see all details shown by Patrick Detampel in this Video:
.. and there are plenty of modular manufacturers getting together again. Elektron released an update on their drummachine in a new casing, Pittsburgh shows his passion for slotmachines and Harvestman is offering a huge synth together with Malekko? This is just the little impression that I got from yesterdays look down thru the links on twitter. The biggest news today will be the funny new president (sorry, not funny) but still there will be other news n stuff to be shown over here in pictures and links… btw we learned to make pictures available in big again, so please feel free to just clic on the small ones..
lets make truth big again?.
Running around on NAMM there are Carlo Krug, Sebastian Baumann and Henning Schonvogel for SchneidersLaden with the job to buy. For the Alex4 distribution company there are Rene Margraff and Jan Mueller with the job to sell, there are plenty of manufacturers themselves around them with the passion to play and finally there is Patrick Detampel with the passion to explain.
So if you have questions regarding the upcoming SUPERBOOTH17 end of april probably Patrick could help you best.
Please have a good time all together, be a peaceful and constructive community to get together again very soon here in berlin, europe for a warm welcome of our spring. I am very much looking forward to welcome YOU on board making the wonderful ride on the river again. And there is plenty of other reasons to participate again.
With warmest regards, HerrSchneider, Berlin
Not just their best VCOs ever but also a complete Mixer system with smart black frontplates and nicer knobs are now available by our most classic european eurorack brand DOEPFER. All their lastest news and products can be seen and tested on the NAMM show in Anaheim (CA) now, visit booth #4911 (Alex4).
With the upcoming NAMM show this week theres not just makers and inventors of modulars and other synthesis products meeting each other in the LA area, plenty of mostly american artists and musicians will be around. Some of the most experimental users of modern modulars – Alessandro Cortini, Richard Devine and Surachai – are doing an evening on Sunday together with seemingly well choosen visual artists to make this trade show probably an outstanding get together of the scenery.
You mostly dont have to take care about this, but the doepfer and others-general distributor ALEX4 moved to a new adress in the north of berlin where they have a bigger stock room and a nicer office to let our musical instrument shops over europe get the stuff they need from. But even there .. you can not find them next week because they will all be on NAMM showing the modular world to those freaks in the Los Angeles area who are not moving to washington to celebrate their new president at the same time. So if you are one of those living in the US and meet us in Anaheim near Disneyland to check for the latest news of AJH Synth, Audio Damage, Birdkids, Doepfer, E-RM, Endorphines, Frap Tools, Haken, Kenton, Sherman, Verbos, Vermona and others .. see you.
2016 was a wonderful year, we had a very good time with each other, a good mood in the company and many nice private moments. The world is going crazy and many people are anxious of the future but first of all I would like to say thank you for the past and even more for the present. We are at the lucky end of the world and we should share a bit more carefully the goods we have keeping a respectful relation with those who are not that lucky now and in the future.
I am very much looking forward to another great meeting on 2017s SUPERBOOTH to also talk about such with you and yours. I hope to meet you all up again soon wishing you a good start into 2017.
with warmest regards from all of us,
Discounted earlybird tickets for SUPERBOOTH17 are selling until December 31st only.
So better make your plans now.
.. synthesizers could make one happy, too! If you plan to order something that you would like to have under or instead of a christmas tree – lightning could be even better – we strongly recommend to plan it and ask for availability in time. Usually this is not done in a day and we will recommend you to oversleep your indivdiual selection and constellation, but .. please call in or come in or start reading about it – if, then – now.
Next to our Minimoog demo in the showroom Berlin, we have placed and original Minimoog with an extra portion of patina and the smell of 40 years of stage carreer. Please be very careful comparing the original with the remake.
Personally I still wonder that people go for such an expensive remake when there are so many interesting new possibilities to make music in the market, but thinking further .. in the end .. playing a keyboard on an ipad? .. no.
To explain the idea of modulars and let more people understand the possibilities of such instruments to make music, to learn about maths, frequencies sounds and moods over low voltages and to meet old and new friends we are often on the roads in europe visiting festivals, synth meetings, musical instrument shows and other retail stores over years already.
Yesterday evening I stood in the berlin based schneidersLaden showroom and reflected that at the same time Patrick Detampel is on his way to Munich to explain the latest news of the Doepfer black magic there while Holger Zapf is on the ferry to the UK to explain the source of eurorack on two festivals this weekend. So if you would like to learn more about what we do over here dont hesitate to ask for help, we could be around.
After his gig in Berlin Jean-Michel Jarre visited our showoroom in SchneidersLaden and met Boris Blank from the Band Yello here. Boris was looking for some modulars picking up a black Doepfer System and the TomOberheim Twovoice Synth for his shows in Berlins Kraftwerk.
IF you are in Amsterdam or around you coud meet up with Patrick D. on the Amsterdam Dance Event to play on some modulars and learn more about what we are doing over here.
ADE – Compagnietheater | Kloveniersburgwal 50, Amsterdam – noon til 7pm, free admission
SUPERBOOTH17 will happen in April directly after Easter again. This time we will celebrate the FEZ Berlin, a building made for kids and the youth with many wonderful functional rooms, located in a great family park not far from last year’s venue. It was built in 1979 by the GDR and is in perfect condition. Again you can start the trip with a boat shuttle from “Jannowitzbrücke” in the morning or (new!) you get there with S-Bahn (suburban train) all day long.
Potential exhibitors will have an invitation this weekend, ticket sales will start in November. A new website has been released now.
This weekend the second issue of the synth and modular convention machines in music will happen in New York (US). Manufacturers, shops and artists from our range of products can be met there in person, SchneidersLaden will be presented by Carlo, Patrick and I will show some of the european brands including Doepfer, E-RM, AJH synths, Birdkids, AQA, and more.
Exhibition & Events* October 8/9, 2016 * knockdown center * NYC / USA
SchneidersLaden.de is SSL certificated again and safe for your purchase per credit card if you like. Still you are even more welcome to come in person and see the showroom with all the modulars in, but … enjoy the wonderful weather first.
If you dont own a modular so far and IF you would like to know about it and IF you understand the german language, here is the latest issue of an intensive introduction on how do I get this started.. with Patrick Detampel as a guest of Non-Eric alias Muso-Talk ..
When I came to Berlin once, my whole life was just concentrated around Veteranenstrasse in Mitte for a few weeks: There is the ACUD, the Zionskirche and those days there was the wonderful Galerie Radio Berlin. Some of the “Veterans” are still there, so now Jim Avignon and many others will perform on an event in Berlin Mitte initiated by Mike Riemel, that probably is different to the usual “Berlin Mitte”.
Saturday, September, 3rd, 2pm til late: Heinrich Heine Stage (opposite Veteranenstr. 27), ACUD macht Neu, Playground (Veteranen 18), Zionschurch and around there .. here is some more information about it, enjoy.
To solder yourself a little synth may be an interesting experience for electronic musicians: Leaf Audio will realize another of their DIY workshops where you can learn such inside the KRAKE festival on the afternoon of July, 30st – Saturday. To participate please register asap via this side: If I got it right, you just go there to solder it together yourselves and sooner or later you will get it done and have your first own little synth – handmade, selfmade and to go.
vive la France (et l’europe)!
