..on air in your Radio now..

For those who did NOT get a ticked we run the radio frequency 95,2 Mhz at Kottbusser Tor now, so cruise your car around the cycle, dont count the rounds and listen to Charles Cohen and Wolfgang Seidel playing LIVE in Schneidersladen. Non freezing pedestriants could do the same with a radio in front our backdoor entry watching the event thru the glass from outdoors.

MUSIC EASLE SOUND CTRL

NAMM_Buchla_Easle-editorOn this years NAMM the Buchla producing company BEMI introduced their vision for an interface to control the parameters on your music easle from any Ipad. The first problem still is the missing Music Easles where they had major problems with the keyboard controllers to get them out. Very slowly they now get backorders done shipping the units handselected one by one. Then there will probably be a gap before this interface will be available working fine with all the versions of this outstanding unit later on, we will see and stay hot for our own backorder hopefully coming in soon – wating in patience.

NAMM RETURNS

tiptop_sequencermodulThis years Namm was really an outstanding familar feeling and one of the nicest meetings I ever had there – with most of the modular nerds from down to Hall E. I am  looking forward to return hopefully next year and will upload a few more videos now showing a bit of it. There are a few left to do and I hope you like em. The Tiptop audio guys was missing unfortunately at the Jaegerhaus, so heres a pic of them. See you again soon and warm regards from LAX.

One 4 each finger!

NAMMlumix_day1n2 118Studio Electronics did announce the fifth model of their Boomstar-Series with a CS80-filter now! The golden one will be coming somehow mid 2014  while the existing models 4075APR like, Oberheim SEM and the Ones with Moog Ladderfilter and TB303style are available and shipping in Europe and the US at least from stock now.

On the NAMM Marc St. Regis, one of the brothers inventors alias Studio Electronics was demoing them all very good at the stand of Geoff Farr their US Distributor, There are three films on the web now with all the models in nearly the same (bad) situation but so you can compare a bit what its about with the different filters.

The Future is back..

NAMMlumix_day1n2 166Jered Flickinger alias Future Retro was seen at the Big City Music booth showing off three new products: A little Masterclock with smart features and gliding parameter as a little round (srry, no pic), then he has a shuffle master to manage sync and midiclock outputs and routings and an expander for this.

He also shows his midi NAMMlumix_day1n2 163polyphonic notes-distribution tool (1 HP in the rack) that can make several monosynths be a poly one together plus many other features, I will try to make it a video still tomorrow.

Videos from NAMM 2014

Finally on NAMM I started to use a little video camera myself reporting about what we see over here. I will go ahead uploading some more bad movies to this channel for those who would like to follow.

Komatoeses Geballer

Wouter_dancingThe sounds of a little roland from china can be modified with dutch pedals to something that could be better or not, but at least you have better knobs and the stuff is made somewhere over here. The inventors are simple human beings dancing around with their own sounds on the Namm in this video. We better all do the same.

The little buchla boat

Buchla_boat_Namm_2014On this video Jeff is introducing us to the little threeboat by buchla that should be released “mid this year/soon”. It contains a Midi/usb to CV interface that also converts from minijack to banana in a new halfsize format that just exists in these little boats so far. Two more (classical) 200e modules can be added and used as a stand alone starter system then.

Tiptop Milstein in the big city

tiptop_sequencermodulGur Milstein alias Tiptop Audio was the first one we met showing his stuff on the big city booth once we could enter the NAMM today. I directly tried to make a video myself that you can see here now. There is no cuts, no pro on the show but you can have a little impression on what Gur is proud on at the time.

Before Namm

Marc_Shawn_Andreas_BillBefore starting the NAMM we had a very nice evening in Ken Macbeths favourite Bar of Santa Monica, Just Ken was missing. See here Mark Verbos now making modules himself, Shawn and me and Bill alias WMD shortly before they kicked us out. The nice pic was made by our friend shane etter, thank you.

Polyphonic rebirth

frontpanelThe polysix was a great tool for keyboardplayers once and it is still outstanding especially for its price range. For those who still own one a one man company called tubbutec from around the corner in berlin is now offering a mod expanding the sound possibilities with voice spread and envelope to pitch. The modification is available as a D.I.Y and to completely be mounted up.

RARE EASLE WORKSHOP:

Charles Cohen is a master synthesizer improviser who has been a central figure in Philadelphia/East Coast experimental, avant-garde, and Charles_Cohen_540x300improvisational scene for the past 40 years. He is one of the few living artists to own and have mastered Don Buchla’s 1973 Music Easel, a rare, performance-oriented portable synth made from two modules of the Buchla 200 series.
His workshop for just 12 people in SchneidersLADEN at Kottbusser Tor will be held on January 30st on a first come first serve basis to those who send an email to workshops@ctm-festival.de NOW.

Cwejman Mic Preamps ..

Cwejman_AP-1_SLWe finally got some of the very rare mic preamps AP-1 with integrated compressor and envelope follower by Wowa Cwejman coming in now. There are still a few available at the time. We also get some filters, the MMF-1 in, but they are all ordered already, as far as I know. Wowa Cwejman told nothing about a concrete delivery date for S1 units, at the time he is working on something new taking the artist apart from the daily work (!), we are sorry.

Theres news ..

ek-lounge-1There are plenty of new modules available for the Eurorack modular. Some of them are not really nessessary, others offer new possibilities and a lot more will be shown on Namm very soon. We will collect the news from there to let you know about it here and in our showroom. Usually such new stuff is not available in Europe before April once they all calm down a bit after the shows they had to do. Everything that should be relevant for you will probably be seen in Frankfurt then, so .. calm down and or ask, we try our best to help you  (…here and now).
