.. there will be a new 808style stepsequencer called EUROPA by Analogue Solutions. He introduced the prototype to us with hand written descriptions on the front panel, what we liked a lot on NAMM, now there is a first impression on his homepage, looks good too! We will go for it, you can preorder formless only – so far.
.. was offering their eurorack version of aSerge VCS as quite a prominent module once. Now the Bananalogue VCS was topped in sales by a ‘dual version and more‘ called MATHS by makenoise . Also the VCS was unfortunately just never available. Anyway – now we heard that the inventor called seth nemec is planning to go further very soon working on new comparable products that we would like to offer, so stay tuned!
A new media distribution/film-marketing site on the web called realeyz.tv now released their interviews about the documentary ‘totally wired’ with the filmmaker Niamh Guckian and me (Andreas Schneider). You can select and see all parts here.
The Stackcable as well as the Z8000 matrix-Sequencer by Tiptopaudio has now been ordered in huge amounts for brilliant prices from tiptopaudio .. thank you Mister Milstein!
.. has been introducing his Iotine Core on NAMM. The inventor Don Hume was a kind guy joining all parties together with most of the modular guys, we had a nice time.
As an addition to their MBase11 and the prominent T-Resonator JoMoX now released a new percussion module inthe same size called M_brane 1_1. We ordered already looking forward to a soon first shipment.
Pressure Points by Makenoise is a pressure sensivite touch plate controller to be released soon: It is generating four channels with each three or four Cvs and a gate depending on your haptical use. Can be ordered now.
The Quotile Ultimatum will be an expansion for the Zorlon Cannon taking that module probably back to your focus: It mixes the four random gate outputs and can be used as a bipolar mixer. It has been introduced on NAMM 2010.
As a follow up of the Polivoks Filter Scott Sebastian Jaeger introduced another cooperation with the russian designer of the Poyvocs that will be called KY3MNHOPITEJI (?or so) during NAMM. It is a sub octave generator and a (soon?) future product still.
Scott Sebastian Jaeger alias theHarvestman now finished the Piston Honda. It is a Wavetable oscillator with variable interpolation resolution now in production already coming over in around two weeks perhaps. Set your reservation on Schneidersladen now.
We will go ahead making workshops in our showroom this year. Now we have released the dates over the mainpage at SchneidersBuero. Looking forward meeting you here or there.
Dieter Doepfer announced a sequencer unit in the same size as the brilliant little modular synth called dark energy. The Dark Time will not be available before early summer as doepfer just let us know. The price could be the same as for a dark energy and everything else is still under construction.
.. showed on namm a DIY-synthesizer as an already mounted board with all components completely mounted up. – DIY?? – You (?) just have to case it up and combine it with the controls and connections of your choice making it your individual piece of hardware for an affordable price. It could become a modular or not, it could be a big synth or just a little filter.
His prototype of the little touchplate keyboard became even smaller this year, both units could still take a while to be released. We will keep you informed.
The 4×4 matrix stepsequencer Z8000 by tiptopaudio is generating up to ten lines of CVs at the same time out of 16 rotary controls only. In such a compact size it will be the bringer at all. We await the first shipment for beginning Feb already but the waiting list is growing, yet.
To get our hands on Analogue Systems stuff is still hard as a reseller because of their very special distributional solutions. It makes the system a bit more unattractive in addition to its technical complications such as the other bus system and their mounting wholes half a TE apart from all others – unfortunately. Still their modules are of outstanding quality and mostly very inspiring!
Another new brand of modular stuff is 4ms alias Dann Green, mostly experienced as pedals already. We will order at least a bigger number of their rotating clock dividers cause theyre so genius. We will study the other models quite soon to get back with further infos.
Sound samples for the new cwejman modules has been made by our friend Navroz. We would like to add the notice that much more is possible than “just this” with the MMF-6 and recommend strongly having a listen over here or whereever it could be possible for you. We ordered more of them now!
If we trust our most experienced buddy with serge stuff from Hamburg, both – The VCS by Bananalogue and the Maths by makenoise – are nothing compared to the original Serge VCS, but at least for the price it makes sense to check them both. The design of the latest version of the Bananalogue is not making everybody happy, but the maths is not less special. The Bananalogue is officially licensed, both models are still short on production as far as I know.
This namm was a very nice time and we want to say thank you to all the manufacturers and inventors that we met there for doing it. Paul and I recovered a bit and in between we could put together what we seen and heard about to give you an impression. I will upload this step by step hoping for your patience.
..na..? who is the ones on the pic? Send all four names in (as a comment) and you will win a free doepfer patch-cable and a DIY-LFO by analogue solutions if you are the first ten out of them – good luck !!
We were very glad to finally meet Mr. Tom Oberheim during NAMM 2010 in the lobby of his hotel. Tom gave us a very interesting history lesson on the beginnings of his business and a still existing cooperation and friendship with other californian inventors.
After introducing Tom to what we do over there in Berlin, he seems to be fine with going ahead keeping us as a junior partner for his sales and support relations into europe. We confirmed to be very happy helping him to go ahead selling only as many units as he is ready to finish in the garage and his kitchen together with his wife. And hopefully Tom will come over for a nice gathering at Musikmesse in 2011.
.. show their idea of a 9U case which can be folded like the buchla system 200. They stated that it´s o.k. to take it on board of a plane as hand luggage what is unfortunatly not possible with the 9rackspace doepfer one. The case was filled with latest tiptop audio stuff such as the Z-DSP and their insane Z8000 matrix sequencer with up to ten different lines crossing each other and so.. We will have some very soon, they promised!!
.. introduced a whole range of tiny nice little stompboxes that we will offer in Europe very soon. Josh and Paul were making a brilliant presentation on NAMM having a bunch of fascinated guitar players around them all the time. Their modular products are available from stock ex berlin again now and the Envelator will be available end of January.
.. alias Gerd Jallass was introducing his famous big sequncer in five rackspace format.. with its latest expansions to the american audience on namm. The classic look and the size of their modules in combination with their modern and easy possibilities is generating interest also in younger generations, it was not easy to get William M. alias WMD away from that for our appointment.
.. alias Tom Carpenter also showed up at the NAMM for the second day. He brought his prototype of a sequencer called EUROPA. His product range chanched over the last years more into desktop units and drifted a bit away from the modular world, it also became better in quality as we thought. Still his latest release – the Leipzig keyboard – did not generate real big interest inside continental europe at least. Perhaps EUROPA will be able to change that, we will see.
There are three brand new Cwejman modules now available ex Berlin in a limited number. The color has changed into a pearl white that made some very first clients reallly happy. The color does perfectly fit to the new SEM module by tomoberheim and we are quite sure they have not been talking about this issue with each other…
The booth of Noisebug alias Chuck Oken jr. was the third adress on NAMM that was a must see for us (and you?) this year. They have been showing the stuff of Don Buchla and associates again together with, Vermona, the brilliant modules by Moon Modular and more. Noisebug is running a real showroom at the earlier Analogue Heaven adress in addition to the usual onlineshop. After they now show again some outstanding good units including bigger modular stuff (5 rackspace) they probably found their place in this US competition of three retailers in the same area and range.
Roger Cordell alias Big city music had a smaller stand upstairs that was totally crowded with stuff from our friends from jomox, sherman, Eric Barbour, Eowave, the surfin step sequencer, the tetra sequencer, racks with analogue systems only, several mellotrones, a lot of stomp boxes and interesting small stuff. With all those manufacturers standing in front of their units it was totally crowded mostly but a bit lost in between all those software sellers next to them.
Here we met the symphatic young guys of WMD alias William Matthewson, Eric Barbour, many friends from europe and the inventor of the 4ms modules and pedals called Dann Green. Definitely we will go with them soon after such a symphatic chat we had there.
Down in Hall E shawn alias analogue haven exhibited the stuff of our friends from doepfer, tiptopaudio, theHarvestman, Malekkoheavyindustries, MakeNoise, Livewire, monorocket and last but not least a friendly guy from australia called john pillans alias Mungo enterprises. He introduced an insane awesome just the biggest desktopsynth ever, a starship console being an eight voice polyphonic digital cv-controllable synth with full memory. It seems to be a lot of fun in a brilliant look without words (see pic)! The price is still unclear (but this is not the issue).
Eric Barbour alias Metasonix introduced his pre-production model of a tube drummachine with an internal sequencer called D-1000. The 8-step triggersequencer can run the two drum instruments, SD and Cymbal with CV-able tuning, generating very interesting drumsounds. All housed in a grey plastic lunchbox as known from the KV-100 Assblaster. Available in about three months earliest.
HerrSchulz und HerrSchneider join the NAMM show in south california and enjoy the weather. Please watch out for the news to follow now. ON three different booths three different shops are showing what they have: Analogue Haven, Noisebug and Big city music are the american shops competing each other. We visited all of them meeting all of our friends unfortunately in those different places apart from each other.
We are very happy to announce, that Mr. Tom Oberheim has choosen us to become his partner on selling his famous SEM modules in Europe now. Because the number of units that we can get is quite limited, we had to agree that they will be sold from us to the endcustomers only. A first shipment with patchpanel units is on the way to us already, see more on tomoberheim.com.
..will be held again in Schneidersladen, Berlin this year to explain the background or technical things to make better music. Please see an overview of how brilliant it has been in 2009 and stay tuned here for our next dates coming soon.
are making clients happy as happened with our friend Nav reporting this on his modular lab. Apart from this we are now able to updae your elderly makenoise modules as we did it with his Hertz Donut here.
has announced his next module called sportmodular now. Please see a preview here, we will meet him on he Namm perhaps.
Colin Frazer alias Sequentix is working on their next stepsequencer called Circlon. After their brilliant P3 this unit could become even more complex having a bigger display and much more outputs, but it is just a preview so far. WE will stay in touch.
The most expected reverberation module called Space Station SST-201 by Sevenwoodsaudio (as introduced on Superbooth 2009) is still under construction. The inventor Christopher Moore is busy programming the PCBs having some problems wih it. Still it could need a bit but we are patiently waiting.
The tiny little four voice polyphonic digital synth called DeMoon by the danish inventor Gotharman is still late with production. We just got the message they wont come for the NAMM to finish up our order, so we will hopefully have stock again soon.
